Recycled agriculture is not a blueprint to further restrict farmers in their existence by oppressive dogmas, regulations and demands of citizens. It is a joint search by farmers, consumers, businesses, governments and researchers for a sustainable form of agriculture that takes the interests of all parties into account. The focus is on optimally combining ecological principles, modern technology, chain cooperation, new earning models and social services. Not only focused on yield and economical use of raw materials and energy, but also by not harming climate, environment and nature.
For more than 50 years, agriculture was focused on efficiently producing as much food as possible at a relatively low price. With this intensive form of agriculture, agrarian Holland won admiration all over the world and developed into the second agricultural export nation in the world.
But it must change course because the pressure on the living environment and biodiversity has become too great. The concept of efficiency must be interpreted more broadly, not only economically, but also ecologically and socially, and above all in balance with the limits of the planet and economic growth. This will lead to attractive landscapes and farming nature that can easily be converted to social appreciation and sustainable earning models.
