The world is in a transformation to the next phase of our civilization. What are the driving forces behind this inescapable transition and what does it mean for society, societies and especially education. Why do we do what we do in education? Do we really know? We assume that our education system has been well thought out and that we know what is "good and right" for people's development. But do we really? Or are we letting patterns, habits and limiting beliefs guide us? Do we dare to ask ourselves the relevant questions, and what are they?
The 21st century will confront humanity with unprecedented ecological, social and economic challenges. With the right mindset, we can embrace chaos and make it instrumental. Times of crisis are the best times because you can be of maximum significance to other people. Never has learning been so much life itself. A lifetime. Therefore: Long live learning, in glory. Reconnecting with nature, each other and with Self; the intention. How do we translate this into human- and future-oriented education and lifelong learning?
Education no longer forms: it deforms. This is due to considerable flaws in the system, which is based on false assumptions. As a result, there are elements in education that do pupils and students more harm than good. How do we teach young people to raise their voices and critically consider the world based on irrefutable facts? How do we ensure that young people can be positioned to matter substantially and be meaningful. In the here and now and in the impending and unleashed future?
Why does education encourage you to transcend collective mediocrity instead of your own mediocrity? Becoming the best in the world is for the few and in our meritocracy leads to an army of frustrated and dissatisfied people. How do you become the best for and not of the world? How do you develop individual potential and why is it important to unleash passion in interdependence? How do we integrate learning to live into the current process of learning to work? Knowing what you want to become or exploring who you want to be and what you want to mean?
The current curriculum no longer connects to the future and does not provide enough space to discover and develop individual potential. How can we develop a curriculum within the existing system that is human- and future-oriented? How can we adapt and expand the existing curriculum? Step by step. Not revolution but evolution. Thinking big, doing smaller. Hence another step. And again tomorrow, under the motto: at the end everything is OK and if it is not OK, then this is not the end.
Toddlers show it to us daily: almost every human being is terribly curious and eager to learn. Especially in the extension of what they are very good at and what unleashes their passion uninhibitedly. And then when it turns out to be meaningful for other people, the soul of lifelong learning is unleashed. Learning cannot get much more fun because it is life.
Learning happens everywhere, not just at school, at home or between 9:00 and 16:00. In education, we need to work together more often and more intensively, both within and outside our own domain. Of course with business, but certainly also within the social domain. Where are the opportunities we don't see now?
Technology can no longer be left out of our lives, and so it cannot be left out of school. How can we use technology, at school and in our lives, to take the world a step further? Where are the opportunities and certainly the threats from an ethical point of view. And how do we prevent technology from leading to even more inequality?
Leading in the 21st century means being an example to others. How to contribute to a world that almost everyone desires. A more sustainable world, with a just society and resilient society. That's why everyone is a leader in school. Mar how do you do that? Lead from the impending future?
